Main Streets on Halsey

Exploring opportunities for a more vibrant main street

The Main Streets on Halsey Study researched and provided an approach to increasing density along Halsey Street in Wood Village, Fairview, and Troutdale. Updates to zoning codes presented opportunities to develop a more vibrant ‘main street’ through each of the three cities. Scott Edwards Architecture helped identify development options unique to each place and inspired by local history and existing buildings. We partnered with all project stakeholders, including city officials and landowners, to explore the wants and needs of the area, including the need for more housing, taller buildings, and temporary commercial uses like food cart pods.
