Wonderlove

Eccentric elements enhance food and event space experience

Wonderlove draws inspiration from fictional fantasylands and futuristic concepts. This destination is in Portland’s Central Eastside neighborhood and occupies the outdoor yard space of Love Bucket, a bike helmet and skateboard manufacturer taking up residence in a renovated industrial building. Wonderlove will have 12 food carts, a 2-story shipping container sports bar with a roof deck, and a covered seating and promotional event area. This fun, vibrant space offers a place for people to gather, enjoy local foods and beverages, and see artists and performers from the community showcased.

Wonderlove takes cues from eccentricity—the design transcends ideas of time and space to create a singular experience for visitors. Our client’s vision centered on developing a place for art, music, and community events that also cultivates a feeling of wonder (hence the name) and possibility. To do this, we incorporate several key elements that set the space apart, including the shipping container sports bar. The building and site will be covered in local artwork to further heighten the sensory experience.

The existing Love Bucket industrial building will be covered in solar panels to support the bar, food carts, and lighting throughout the site.
