Fort George Brewery

Coast cannery becomes Fort George Brewery’s new home

SEA and Fort George Brewing collaborated on the renovation of a 1960s seafood canning warehouse into a full-scale brewery and distribution hub. The brewery design capitalized on the unique features of the building and its proximal relationship to the water. New glass overhead doors on the river-side of the facility promote natural ventilation and capture the attention of pedestrians walking along Astoria’s popular Riverwalk. Strategic layout maximized the program efficiencies within the existing structure and breathed new life into a blighted section of Astoria’s waterfront.
