Celebration of Life for Melissa Ehn

It is with great sadness that we share the recent passing of Melissa Ehn, an accomplished architect and valued team member at Scott Edwards Architecture. In her five years with SEA, Melissa designed for multiple of the firm’s studios, was an integral part of sustainability and DEI initiatives, and co-led the firm’s multi-family housing think tank. Multi-family, and particularly affordable housing, became the focus of her project-based work, and because of her quick-studied nature and willingness to help, she was often sought out as a trusted resource by others. She cared deeply about her work, understood the power architecture has to improve lives and was driven to create something tangible that connected to the wider world. The places that she contributed to will leave behind a lasting legacy.

About Melissa, her colleagues say that her empathy and humor were unmatched. She was not one to adhere to expected norms, and her creativity was not limited to architecture. Prior to becoming an architect, Melissa was in publishing, and her pursuits outside of work included photography, art, travel, and making her own clothing. She’s remembered as an engaging and active person who was generous with her insight and known for her aptly timed quips. We miss Melissa and we will carry her wit, dedication, and enthusiasm for life with us moving forward.

Melissa had great impact on many of SEA’s projects. The following are just a few that she had a hand in designing.
