Headlands Coastal Lodge & Spa

A destination that is authentically Oregon Coast

The Headlands Coastal Lodge & Spa is situated on a unique oceanside site near the Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area. It features breathtaking views of the adjacent beach, Haystack Rock, and the Pacific Ocean beyond. The lodge has 33 guest rooms, all with ocean views, a day spa, and a restaurant. SEA’s design inspiration for Headlands is derived from the surrounding natural setting and the larger Pacific Northwest region.

The site is a long, narrow piece of oceanfront property between beach and hillside. We faced the early design challenge of fitting the building in a way that made sense, both functionally and aesthetically.
